Rahool Kanal Assures ‘Welcome’ for Kunal Kamra

Rahool Kanal, General Secretary of Shiv Sena’s Yuva Sena (Shinde faction), stated that comedian Kunal Kamra would receive a “Shiv Sena-style” welcome whenever he comes to Mumbai. Kanal, who was held for vandalizing the Habitat venue where Kamra was scheduled to perform, denied issuing any threats.

Speaking to ANI, Kanal commented on Kamra's interim anticipatory bail granted by the Madras High Court and emphasized that the relief was valid only until April 7 and restricted to Tamil Nadu.

Kanal also mentioned that Yuva Sena members report to the police station every Monday and Thursday as part of legal proceedings.

Why is Kunal Kamra in Trouble?

The controversy began after Kunal Kamra made a “gaddar” (traitor) remark against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during a comedy show. Following this, his show’s venue, Habitat in Mumbai, was vandalized by Shiv Sena Yuva Sena members, leading to Kanal’s arrest.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized Maharashtra’s government, accusing its cabinet ministers of openly threatening Kunal Kamra.
