  2. MLA warns tourists about unknowingly funding jihad by visiting Kashmir.

  3. Bhaiya reflects on the plight of Kashmiri Hindus and the false image of normalcy in Kashmir.

In a sharp reaction to the deadly terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh, popularly known as Raja Bhaiya, emphasized the religious motivations behind terrorism in Kashmir. Referring to reports from eyewitnesses who stated that the terrorists checked for sacred threads and clothing to determine the religion of the victims before executing them, Raja Bhaiya argued that this incident further proves that terrorism in Kashmir is driven by a religious ideology.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Raja Bhaiya voiced his concerns over how tourism in Kashmir unknowingly contributes to strengthening extremist networks in the region. He stated that by spending money on travel, hotels, and local purchases in Kashmir, tourists are inadvertently funding the very separatist and terrorist organizations that threaten India’s security. According to him, tourists visiting Kashmir, especially to enjoy peaceful spots like Dal Lake and houseboats, end up projecting a false image of normalcy in the region, while the reality of terrorism continues to loom large.

Raja Bhaiya also pointed to the historical exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the 1990s, asserting that the community is still refugees in their own country, with many forced to live outside Kashmir due to ongoing terrorist violence. He reminded the public that Kashmiri Hindus, who were once massacred and driven out by terrorists, still face the legacy of this traumatic event. He expressed regret over the ignorance of tourists, who may be unaware of how their visit is indirectly strengthening the very forces that threaten the country’s sovereignty.

The Pahalgam terror attack on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, including both locals and foreign nationals, has left the nation in shock. Terrorists specifically targeted individuals based on religion and religious symbols, making this one of the most horrifying attacks on tourists since the Pulwama attack in 2019. Raja Bhaiya’s remarks reflect the growing outrage and calls for stronger action against the perpetrators of such attacks. The deadly assault has raised concerns not only over security failures but also over the ideological motives behind such strikes.

This tragic incident has led to heightened security measures across major cities in India, with many questioning the effectiveness of current counterterrorism strategies in Kashmir. Furthermore, the attack underscores the ideological divide in the region, as many locals continue to hold separatist views, either openly or covertly, as pointed out by Raja Bhaiya. The political environment in Kashmir remains deeply divided, with many factions supporting either separatism or outright terrorism.

Raja Bhaiya's comments reflect the deep-rooted issues plaguing Kashmir, where extremism, religious intolerance, and terrorism continue to shape the lives of ordinary people. He called for a more responsible approach to tourism in Kashmir, encouraging people to be mindful of the larger socio-political consequences of their actions.
