In a shocking incident on April 19, 2025, Ricky Rai, the son of the late infamous underworld figure Muthappa Rai, was shot at near his farmhouse in Bidadi, resulting in serious injuries. The attack occurred at around 12:30 am when Ricky was traveling in his car from his farmhouse towards Bengaluru. At the time of the attack, Ricky was accompanied by his driver and a private gunman.

The assailants, who were reportedly hiding behind a compound wall near the farmhouse, opened fire as soon as Ricky entered his car and sat in the back seat. Two rounds were fired at close range, with one of the bullets striking Ricky. He sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention.

The attack has raised several questions, particularly about the attackers' motives. Initial investigations suggest that Ricky, who had returned to India just two days prior after spending time abroad, was being closely monitored by the assailants. Authorities believe that the attackers may have been tracking his movements, possibly due to his real estate ventures. While Ricky Rai is not directly involved with the underworld like his father, his large-scale business dealings have been the subject of some attention.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been dispatched to the site of the attack to collect evidence and assist in the ongoing investigation. The police have formed a special team to probe the circumstances surrounding the attack and track down the individuals responsible for this violent act.

Ricky’s condition remains critical as of the latest updates, and authorities are working around the clock to piece together the events that led to the attack. Given his family’s notorious background, it is unclear whether this attack was motivated by personal vendettas, business rivalry, or criminal activities linked to his father’s past.
