In contrast, entry-level positions in the IT sector offer around US$ 6,794.29 (Rs. 5.7 lakh) per annum, with salaries climbing to US$ 21,336.45 (Rs. 17.9 lakh) for experienced professionals. This salary discrepancy underscores the GCCs' role in driving up industry standards and attracting top talent.
Skills Gap: Despite the lucrative opportunities, the sector faces a significant skills gap. Only 2.5% of engineers are proficient in artificial intelligence (AI), and just 5.5% possess fundamental programming skills. This gap highlights a pressing need for enhanced training and reskilling initiatives. In response, 86% of Indian businesses are actively involved in reskilling their IT workforce to bridge this gap.
