In a noteworthy celebration of cultural diversity and community contribution, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Media, Mr. Khalid bin Abdulqader Al-Ghamdi, recently commended the remarkable impact of the 20.6 million Indians residing in the Kingdom. This commendation coincided with the launch of the 'Global Harmony' initiative, which is part of Saudi Arabia's broader "Quality of Life" Programme aimed at achieving the ambitious goals outlined in Vision 2030.

The Riyadh Season, which commenced on October 13, 2024, is set to be a vibrant showcase of cultural exchange, featuring events that highlight the rich heritages of 11 nations, including India, the Philippines, and Egypt, over a span of 45 days. The activities lined up for this season include concerts, cultural performances, entertainment events, and opportunities to indulge in traditional cuisines and explore various handicraft exhibitions.

Mr. Al-Ghamdi emphasized the profound significance of the Saudi-Indian relationship, pointing out the enhanced cooperation between the two nations in both economic and cultural spheres. He noted that the substantial presence of 20.6 million Indians in Saudi Arabia underscores their invaluable contributions to society and the economy. This demographic not only enriches the cultural fabric of the Kingdom but also plays a critical role in various sectors, further cementing the strong ties between the two nations.

The Deputy Minister referenced the previous visits of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia in 2016 and 2019, illustrating the ongoing commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. He affirmed that the Global Harmony initiative, organised by the Ministry of Media in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority, aims to demonstrate the harmonious coexistence of residents within Saudi society. This initiative is in line with the long-term goals of both nations as they work together under the Vision 2030 framework, promoting mutual understanding and cultural appreciation.
