Yadav suggested that it remains unclear whether the attack was politically motivated or orchestrated by terrorist groups, drawing a parallel to the 2019 Pulwama attack. His remarks, made during a press conference in Varanasi, have stirred significant backlash, especially from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has accused opposition leaders of downplaying Pakistan’s role in the attack and undermining the morale of India's security forces.

While speaking to reporters, Yadav said, “Whether the Pulwama terror attack of 2019 was carried out by terrorists or by our own people is still a matter of doubt.
