SPML Infra Limited has secured a major order worth ₹1,073 crore (inclusive of GST) from the Indore Municipal Corporation for the augmentation of the city’s water supply system under the AMRUT 2.0 programme—a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at making urban areas water-secure and self-reliant. The new contract, announced via a filing to both the BSE and NSE, covers a comprehensive EPC package for water infrastructure development along with a 10-year Operation and Maintenance (O&M) commitment following commissioning.
According to SPML Infra, the scope of the project is designed to significantly strengthen Indore’s water infrastructure, benefiting more than two million residents by ensuring continuous and safe drinking water. The project includes:
-
Construction of a 1,650 MLD raw water intake structure with state-of-the-art pumping facilities
-
Development of a 400 MLD water treatment plant, designed to meet stringent quality standards using advanced technologies
-
Establishment of clear water booster pumping stations, transmission mains and more than 22 km of large-diameter pipelines (1200 – 2337 mm)
-
Installation of a new 132/33 kV substation to power critical systems
-
10-year O&M contract to ensure efficient and sustainable operation of all assets, including structured escalation provisions
The EPC portion is scheduled for completion within 30 months, including rainy seasons, from the date of contract signing.
Commenting on the win, Mr. Subhash Sethi, Chairman of SPML Infra Limited, said:
“We are proud to be entrusted with this important project by the Indore Municipal Corporation under AMRUT 2.0. This project reaffirms SPML Infra’s ability to design and deliver integrated water infrastructure at scale, and is a significant step toward ensuring water security for one of India’s cleanest and fastest-growing cities.”
Founded over four decades ago, SPML Infra is one of India’s leading water infrastructure development companies, having executed more than 700 projects nationwide. It is currently ranked 14th among the world’s Top 50 private water companies (Global Water Intelligence, London), and continues to expand its presence in the urban water, wastewater and power infrastructure sectors.
With a strong order book and a growing presence in high-priority government programmes such as AMRUT, Smart Cities and Jal Jeevan Mission, the company sees this new contract as an opportunity to further strengthen its role in India’s infrastructure growth and Viksit Bharat vision.
