SPML Infra Wins ₹385 Crore Order for Rajasthan Water Infrastructure Project under Jal Jeevan Mission

SPML Infra Limited (NSE: SPMLINFRA, BSE: 500402), India’s premier infrastructure development and water management company, has secured a major ₹385 crore order for a Water Production and Supply System for the Kekri-Sarwar Sector Package-III in Ajmer district, Rajasthan.

This prestigious project is part of the Government of India’s flagship Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to ensure safe and adequate drinking water supply to every rural household in India through individual Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) by 2026.

Project Overview

The newly awarded contract will focus on building and operating a comprehensive, modern water infrastructure system, designed to transform the drinking water supply network for the Kekri-Sarwar region in Ajmer.

This large-scale infrastructure initiative will strengthen water supply capabilities across the region by drawing water from the Bisalpur Dam System, one of Rajasthan’s key water sources, and will incorporate advanced treatment, storage, transmission, and monitoring systems.

Major Components of the Project

SPML Infra’s scope of work under this contract is extensive, demonstrating its expertise in delivering integrated, end-to-end water infrastructure solutions. The major elements of the project include:

1. Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

A state-of-the-art 160 Million Litres per Day (MLD) Water Treatment Plant will be constructed at Kekri. Designed to meet rigorous quality standards, the WTP will ensure the delivery of safe, potable water to the region’s residents.

2. Storage Facilities:

Two Clear Water Reservoirs (CWRs) will be built with a combined capacity of 37.75 MLD.

• 20 MLD capacity at the WTP Kekri Campus.

• 17.75 MLD capacity at Intermediate Pumping Station (IPS) Nasirabad PH.

These reservoirs will ensure reliable, uninterrupted water storage and distribution capabilities across the service area.

3. Transmission Network:

A robust transmission system will be developed, including laying, jointing, testing, and commissioning of MS Pipelines spanning 58.675 kilometers as a Rising Main from WTP Kekri to IPS Nasirabad.

This will ensure efficient, secure delivery of treated water over long distances.

4. Advanced Pumping and Control Systems:

Supply and installation of advanced pumping systems, along with associated electrical and mechanical equipment, will be executed. The project will feature instrumentation and SCADA systems for seamless, real-time operational monitoring and control.

5. Civil Works and Infrastructure Development:

• Demolishing existing outdated structures.

• Construction of new office buildings and J-2 quarters at designated locations to support the operational teams.

6. Smart Monitoring:

The entire scheme will be equipped with an advanced SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. This modern digital control solution will enable real-time tracking, fault detection, remote operations, and efficient management of the water supply network.

7. Long-Term Operation and Maintenance:

A critical highlight of the contract is the 10-year Operation and Maintenance (O&M) commitment. SPML Infra will ensure optimal system performance, regular maintenance, and reliability of water supply services for a full decade post-construction.

Contribution to the Jal Jeevan Mission

The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), launched in 2019, represents one of India’s most ambitious social infrastructure programs. By 2026, it targets universal coverage of Functional Household Tap Connections in rural India.
