Supreme Industries Takes Over Orbia Wavin’s India Operations in USD 30 Million Deal, Launches Long-Term Technology Partnership
Mumbai, August 1, 2025 – The Supreme Industries Ltd., India’s largest plastic pipe manufacturer, has officially taken charge of the pipes and fittings business of Orbia Wavin in India, completing a major acquisition that was first disclosed in March 2025. This strategic move also marks the start of a long-term technology licensing agreement with Orbia Advance Corporation S.A.B. de CV, the Mexico-based parent of Wavin.
The deal, valued at USD 30 million plus net working capital adjustments, gives Supreme full control over Orbia Wavin’s building and infrastructure pipes and fittings business in India, including three operational manufacturing facilities located in:
-
Banmore, Madhya Pradesh
-
Hyderabad, Telangana
-
Neemrana, Rajasthan
With this acquisition, Supreme Industries now operates 33 manufacturing units across India, strengthening its production capacity and regional presence.
Strategic Highlights
In addition to the business takeover, Supreme Industries will now operate under a technology license from Orbia Wavin, granting it exclusive access to Wavin’s global portfolio of advanced water management technologies for:
-
Drinking water
-
Wastewater
-
Stormwater management
These proprietary solutions can now be implemented not only in India but also across SAARC nations, leveraging Supreme’s vast distribution network and market reach.
The deal was finalized on July 31, 2025, following successful due diligence and the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
Leadership Speak
M.P. Taparia, Managing Director of Supreme, stated:
“With this acquisition and agreement now complete, we are well-positioned to accelerate the next phase of growth. Orbia Wavin’s proven technologies complement our strengths in manufacturing and market penetration.”
Sameer Bharadwaj, CEO of Orbia, added:
“This is a landmark deal. By combining Orbia Wavin’s innovation engine with Supreme’s unmatched reach, we are creating a platform to improve India’s water security and infrastructure resilience.”
Technology & Innovation Roadmap
While Supreme takes over the business and operations of Wavin in India, Orbia Wavin will continue to operate its Technology & Innovation Center in India. The R&D team will remain under Orbia’s umbrella and will focus on next-generation water infrastructure solutions.
This ensures continuity in research excellence and long-term product innovation, even as Supreme scales these technologies in India’s demanding and rapidly growing market.
Impact on Water Infrastructure in India
The deal is expected to significantly enhance India’s capabilities in sustainable water infrastructure. Supreme’s ability to manufacture and distribute at scale, combined with Orbia Wavin’s international-grade technology, will cater to the rising demand across:
-
Residential
-
Commercial
-
Industrial
-
Agricultural sectors
This partnership aligns with national goals to improve water access, sanitation, and climate resilience.
Deal Structure and Legal Backdrop
The acquisition was executed through a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this year. The business transfer includes:
-
Orbia’s Indian entity: Wavin Industries Limited
-
