1. Suzlon Global Services wins ₹27 crore worth contracts for transmission line work and material supply in Gujarat.

2. The contracts involve erection, testing, and commissioning of a 220KV EHV transmission line as per GETCO specifications.

3. The project is to be completed within 10 months, marking Suzlon’s continued involvement in Gujarat's power infrastructure development.

Suzlon Global Services Limited, a leading player in the renewable energy and power infrastructure sector, has recently secured two significant contracts related to the 220KV EHV transmission line project in Gujarat. The combined value of these contracts amounts to an impressive ₹27.65 crore, which includes both work orders and material supply orders. These new contracts highlight Suzlon’s commitment to contributing to India's growing power transmission infrastructure, especially in states like Gujarat that are rapidly advancing their renewable energy and power capacity.

Project Overview

The first contract is a work order worth approximately ₹14.63 crore, which involves the erection, stringing, testing, and commissioning of a 220KV S/c on D/c (ACSR ZEBRA) EHV transmission line. This line spans around 40.8 kilometers and connects Kalavad-Khandhera to Jamjodhpur, also known as Suzlon PSS Line GJ. The project is being executed as per the specifications of the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO), a key player in Gujarat's power transmission network. This work order, dated September 2, 2024, was finalized on September 10, 2024, after receiving confirmation via email.

The second contract, valued at approximately ₹13.02 crore, is a purchase order for the supply of materials required for the completion of the same 220KV transmission line project. This purchase order, dated September 5, 2024, was also confirmed on September 10, 2024. The materials to be supplied as per the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) are crucial for the completion of the 220KV S/c on D/c EHV transmission line and will be provided in accordance with GETCO's and Suzlon's detailed specifications.

Erection and Commissioning Work

The work order involves various phases of project execution, starting from erection and stringing to testing and commissioning of the transmission line. These tasks are critical to ensure the seamless transfer of power from one point to another and require adherence to strict safety and technical standards. Suzlon Global Services will also handle the Handover-Takeover (HOTO) procedures once the commissioning is successfully completed. The 220KV EHV transmission line will play an integral role in enhancing Gujarat’s electrical grid, enabling efficient power distribution across the region.

This contract comes as a follow-up to Suzlon’s previous work order, valued at approximately ₹3.73 crore, which was reported earlier in September 2024. The combined value of these orders indicates Suzlon’s growing influence in the field of EHV transmission projects and showcases the company’s ability to handle large-scale infrastructure projects.

Material Supply and Project Timeline

The material supply contract, worth ₹13.02 crore, is equally important as it ensures the availability of essential components for the transmission line project. This order includes items specified in the BOQ, which range from conductors and insulators to structural materials essential for building a robust transmission line. Timely procurement and delivery of these materials are key to completing the project on schedule.

Both contracts specify that the project must be completed within 10 months of receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Suzlon is expected to work closely with GETCO to ensure that all phases of the project are executed efficiently, ensuring adherence to the timeline and the high-quality standards required for such critical infrastructure work.

Contribution to Gujarat's Power Infrastructure

This project is part of the larger effort to upgrade and expand Gujarat’s transmission network. Suzlon Global Services has been actively involved in power infrastructure projects across the state, particularly in the field of renewable energy. The successful execution of this 220KV transmission line project will contribute to better electricity distribution across Jamjodhpur and surrounding areas, facilitating smoother energy transmission and enhancing the overall reliability of the grid.

Suzlon’s involvement in these projects reinforces the company’s standing as a leader in the Indian renewable energy and power sector. With its expertise in erection, commissioning, and cybersecurity, Suzlon is poised to continue playing a pivotal role in India's energy transformation, particularly in states like Gujarat that are leading the way in terms of renewable energy adoption and power infrastructure modernization.

Contract Terms and Compliance

The contracts are not considered related party transactions, and neither Suzlon Global Services nor its promoter group has any vested interest in GETCO, the entity awarding the contract. Both contracts have been finalized at arm’s length and follow industry-standard payment terms. While the specific details of these terms have not been disclosed, the payment will be made in alignment with the terms outlined in the respective work and purchase orders.

As this is a domestic transaction, there are no international regulatory implications, and the project will be governed by the laws and regulations of India, specifically those related to power transmission infrastructure.

Suzlon’s Future Projects

With these contracts in hand, Suzlon Global Services has further solidified its position as a key player in India’s power sector, particularly in Gujarat’s transmission projects. The company is also likely to secure additional contracts in the future, given its track record of successful project execution and its strong relationship with GETCO and other power sector entities.
