The victim, 76-year-old Chaggo Mal Pande, who works as cash collection staff at the agency, reported that he was held at gunpoint and robbed of approximately Rs 23 lakh in cash. Additionally, a bag containing uncounted money was also taken during the heist, pushing the total estimated loss to Rs 70 lakh.

The Delhi Police responded swiftly to this alarming incident. Within 28 hours, an eight-member team carried out extensive searches in multiple cities—Mussoorie, Dehradun, and Delhi—resulting in the apprehension of six individuals involved in the robbery. The efficient police operation, which relied heavily on crucial CCTV footage and advanced technical surveillance, traced the movements of the suspects and led to their capture.

The arrested individuals include Chinar Amariya (23), Paras (20), and Sharad (19) from Mussoorie, along with a juvenile. Authorities recovered Rs 14.3 lakh in cash from this group, shares valued at Rs 1.2 lakh, and a motorcycle. Furthermore, three other suspects, including Rohit (20), were arrested in Dehradun. From this group, police seized Rs 9.4 lakh in cash and three mobile phones worth Rs 4.5 lakh, purchased with the stolen money.

Despite the successful capture of these suspects, two individuals involved in the heist remain at large. The Delhi Police are conducting continuous raids to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the rest of the stolen money. Declared a proclaimed offender by a city court on June 26, 2013, Bunty was finally nabbed when a Delhi Police constable posed as a woman on social media to lure him into a trap.
