  3. Netizens had mixed reactions to the incident, with some praising the trust and others questioning cash preparedness.

In an unexpected Swiggy delivery incident, a delivery executive trusted a customer with a ₹790 food order despite the customer being unable to pay due to a bank server issue at 3:30 AM. The customer, Nirmal Nambiar, shared the story on Threads, a social media platform, detailing how he couldn’t make the payment due to technical difficulties. With no friends answering his calls and unable to pay immediately, Nambiar was faced with a tough decision: either return the food or request the delivery executive to trust him to pay the next day.

In his post, Nambiar explained that he convinced the delivery man to trust him, noting that the executive seemed to believe in the goodwill of the situation, even though ₹790 could have been his daily earnings. The delivery executive reportedly smiled and responded, “You feel like a brother, so I trust you.” Nambiar went on to express his gratitude, mentioning that the executive’s act of trust made him feel connected, and the next morning, he rewarded the delivery executive with ₹1,000. The delivery executive replied, saying, "Bhaichara on peak," referring to the strong sense of brotherhood they shared.

The social media post garnered mixed reactions from users. Some supported the gesture, appreciating the trust between strangers, while others questioned why the customer didn’t carry cash for the order, suggesting it was irresponsible to rely on others for payment. One user commented, “Feels good to trust people blindly, many times they break it but it's still worth it,” highlighting the risks of such trust-based transactions.

In contrast, other netizens, like Rakesh, cautioned that carrying cash should be a standard practice for such scenarios, stating, “From next time, please keep cash with you.”

Despite the mixed opinions, Nambiar also praised Swiggy for having understanding delivery partners, thanking them for the positive experience and the trust shown by the delivery executive. He further expressed that he was "lucky to have such a great delivery partner."

This incident showcases a heartwarming moment of trust and gratitude between a delivery executive and a customer, with social media sparking a debate on the importance of trust and responsibility in transactions.
