Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has entered a strategic collaboration with Suzlon Group to co-develop 838 MW of wind energy projects. The projects are scheduled for completion across multiple Indian states over the coming years, marking a significant milestone in India’s clean energy transition.
This agreement highlights TPREL’s leadership in renewable energy development and aligns with India’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. By partnering with Suzlon, a trusted and experienced renewable energy player, TPREL aims to ensure the delivery of reliable, dispatchable, and economically viable wind energy solutions.
TPREL’s wind energy portfolio currently exceeds 3.9 GW, with over 1 GW already operational and the remainder in various stages of development across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. This project marks the third strategic partnership between TPREL and Suzlon, reflecting a decade-long collaboration built on trust, expertise, and execution excellence.
Under this agreement, Suzlon will provide a comprehensive end-to-end solution, including the supply, installation, and commissioning of wind turbine generators for the 838 MW projects. These projects will enhance Tata Power’s renewable energy footprint and contribute directly to achieving the company’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2045.
Tata Power’s overall renewable energy portfolio currently stands at 15.7 GW, with 6.9 GW sourced from clean energy, reinforcing its commitment to Net Zero by 2045. Serving around 13 million customers nationwide, Tata Power continues to drive India’s energy transition through a combination of renewable and conventional energy generation, transmission, distribution, and storage solutions.
