DSP confirmed strong security deployments, including route mapping and surveillance arrangements for Naidu’s visit.

Governor Abdul Nazeer will also be present in Guntur to attend a convocation at Vignan University, further boosting security levels.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit Guntur district on August 3, prompting the state administration and law enforcement agencies to implement stringent security arrangements in the region. His visit comes alongside that of Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, who will be attending a graduation ceremony at Vignan University, leading to heightened alertness in the region.
CM Naidu’s event in Mangalagiri
CM Naidu is expected to participate in a significant public event being organised within the Mangalagiri rural police station limits. According to police officials, the event will draw a large number of people, prompting detailed traffic control measures and strong security arrangements.
Local police, under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), have chalked out a comprehensive plan. It includes:
-
Deployment of additional police forces
-
Installation of CCTV cameras across key points
-
Barricading and crowd control
-
Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) on standby
DSP officers have stated that route rehearsals have already begun, and mobile patrolling units will be active throughout the event.
“The Chief Minister’s route is being sanitized regularly and a control room has been set up for real-time monitoring,” said a senior officer involved in the arrangements.
Governor to attend university convocation
Simultaneously, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer is also scheduled to visit the district to attend the graduation ceremony at Vignan University. The university is located within the same district, further intensifying the need for coordinated security protocols between the district administration and the Governor’s protocol staff.
The Governor's presence, combined with CM Naidu’s public meeting, means dual-layered security cover is in place. The Andhra Pradesh State Police have sought assistance from intelligence units and local law enforcement to ensure no lapse occurs.
A special team has also been deployed to monitor social media activity and intelligence alerts, to pre-empt any possible disruptions or protests.
Traffic and public advisories
The Guntur Traffic Police have issued advisories to commuters, particularly those traveling through Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, and the stretch between Vijayawada and Guntur. Temporary diversions will be in effect during the movement of the Chief Minister’s convoy.
Public transport services may face intermittent delays, and authorities have urged citizens to plan travel accordingly. Local schools and institutions in the surrounding areas may operate on revised schedules on the day of the visit.
Public gathering zones have been demarcated, and metal detectors and frisking units will be positioned at entry points. Drones will be deployed for aerial surveillance at both the public event and the convocation venue.
Political and administrative significance
CM Naidu’s visit holds political importance, especially as it comes soon after his return to power. It is seen as part of his effort to connect directly with the people and assess the progress of administrative delivery on the ground.
Sources from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) said Naidu may also hold brief interactions with local party leaders and public representatives after the main event. His public address is expected to focus on governance reforms, youth employment, and infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh.
The Guntur district, which includes politically sensitive zones like Mangalagiri and Tenali, has often been at the heart of electoral strategies. The CM's visit is expected to galvanise cadre morale ahead of upcoming municipal elections and local body polls.
Conclusion
The convergence of two top state dignitaries—Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Governor Abdul Nazeer—on the same day has necessitated unprecedented security arrangements across Guntur district. With thousands expected to attend both events, the district administration and police are on high alert, ensuring the programmes conclude smoothly without any disruptions.
