At the inaugural session of SEMICON India 2024 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath showcased the state's impressive strides in the electronics sector. Under his leadership and the guidance of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a significant player in India’s electronics industry.

Achievements in Mobile Production and Semiconductors

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh now accounts for over 55% of India's mobile phone production and more than 50% of mobile components. This achievement is a testament to the state's strategic focus on IT, semiconductors, data centers, and electronic manufacturing. Notably, Samsung's Noida facility, Asia's largest mobile manufacturing plant, has reinforced UP's position as a major player in the global electronics market. Additionally, Samsung’s investment in a new display unit plant further underscores the state’s attractiveness to leading global electronics firms.

UP-Semiconductor Policy 2024

In his address, Adityanath also introduced the UP-Semiconductor Policy 2024, which aims to bolster semiconductor investments by offering various incentives. These include capital subsidies, interest subvention, reductions in land value, stamp duty, and electricity charges. This policy is designed to make Uttar Pradesh a more appealing destination for semiconductor companies and technology investments.

Data Centres and Business Environment

The Chief Minister emphasized UP’s growing significance as a data center hub, reflecting its increasing role in the digital infrastructure landscape. Uttar Pradesh has also made remarkable progress in improving its business environment, securing a position among the top achievers in ease of doing business rankings. The state has granted industry status to the IT sector, further enhancing its investment potential. Moreover, more than 450 online services are now available through the Single Window 'Nivesh Mitra' platform, providing substantial support to entrepreneurs and investors.
