In a significant move for India's IPO market, five companies have received the much-awaited approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch their Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). Among them are Veritas Finance, Laxmi India Finance, and Ajay Poly, which are all preparing to raise substantial funds from the market. These approvals were granted during the last week of April, signaling a boost in the IPO pipeline for the Indian stock market.
Veritas Finance IPO Details
Veritas Finance, a retail-focused non-deposit-taking NBFC, plans to raise Rs 2,800 crore through its IPO. This will comprise a fresh issue of Rs 600 crore and an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of Rs 2,200 crore. The OFS will include stakes sold by various investors, including Norwest Venture Partners X, Kedaara Capital Fund II LLP, and British International Investment plc. The proceeds from the IPO will be directed toward augmenting the company’s capital base, ensuring it can meet future lending requirements and expand its business.
Veritas Finance’s IPO is seen as a pivotal step for the company to increase its presence in the financial sector, which continues to grow rapidly in India. The company has long been recognized for its consumer loan products and microfinance solutions. The approval from SEBI will enable Veritas to attract a wider investor base and raise the necessary capital to fund future business expansion and activities.
Laxmi India Finance IPO
Another significant player, Laxmi India Finance, is also in line to raise funds via an IPO. The proposed IPO will consist of a fresh issue of 1.04 crore shares and an OFS of 56.38 lakh shares from the promoters. Like Veritas Finance, the proceeds from the fresh issue will be used to strengthen Laxmi India Finance's capital base, supporting the company’s continued growth in microfinance and small business loans. The company intends to expand its reach in the retail lending market and improve its overall financial health.
Laxmi India Finance has established itself as an important non-banking financial company (NBFC) focused on providing credit to under-served regions in India. The IPO will serve as an important means for the company to meet increasing demand for its loan offerings and further enhance its operational capabilities.
Ajay Poly IPO Details
Ajay Poly, which specializes in refrigeration sealing solutions, is also in the process of launching its IPO. The company plans to raise up to Rs 238 crore through a fresh issue, along with an OFS of 93 lakh equity shares by the promoters. The proceeds will be directed towards debt repayment, capital expenditure for purchasing new equipment, and expansion at its manufacturing units in Noida, Karegaon, Shirwal, and Chennai. The fresh issue is expected to support Ajay Poly’s efforts to strengthen its position in the industrial equipment market.
The company’s IPO highlights its efforts to upgrade its production facilities and to support its expanding business footprint in India’s growing industrial segment. Ajay Poly is known for its cutting-edge sealing solutions, and its IPO is seen as a key step in scaling its operations across diverse geographies.
Regaal Resources and Jajoo Rashmi Refractories IPOs
Other companies that have received SEBI's nod include Regaal Resources, a Kolkata-based agro-based firm, and Jajoo Rashmi Refractories, a Rajasthan-based company focused on the manufacture of ferro alloys. Both companies have filed for IPOs to raise substantial amounts of money to fund their expansion projects.
Regaal Resources' IPO will consist of a fresh issue worth Rs 190 crore, with Rs 147 crore allocated for debt repayment and general corporate purposes. The funds will help strengthen its balance sheet and support further growth in the agriculture sector.
On the other hand, Jajoo Rashmi Refractories is planning a fresh issue of up to Rs 150 crore, which will be used to establish new manufacturing facilities for ferro alloys. These funds will help the company expand its production capabilities in Bokaro, Jharkhand, while also supporting working capital needs.
Earthood Services Withdraws IPO Application
While five companies received approval, Earthood Services withdrew its IPO application on April 28. The company had initially filed its draft documents with SEBI earlier in the year but has decided to halt its plans at this stage. This marks the first instance in 2023 of a company withdrawing its IPO plans after filing.
