The Delhi Assembly is gearing up for important deliberations on the Delhi Budget 2025-26 today, March 26, 2025. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also holds the finance portfolio, will table key proposals including discussions on the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Performance Audit Report on the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), a proposal for enhanced MLA support staff, and a historic Rs 1,500 crore plan for the cleaning of the Yamuna River and improving Delhi's sewage infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Delhi government’s Budget for 2025-26, marking a historic Rs 1 lakh crore budget, a 31.5% increase from the previous year. In her address to the assembly, the Chief Minister described the budget as one for transforming Delhi’s economy from a struggling one to a "Viksit Delhi" (Developed Delhi).

Proposal to Enhance MLA Support Staff
A significant discussion in the assembly today will be on the **proposal to increase the number of support staff for MLAs. Member Surya Prakash Khatri will move the motion that each MLA be assigned four Data Entry Operators (instead of two) and that their remuneration be enhanced in line with the skilled category under the Minimum Wages Act. This proposal aims to improve the efficiency of MLAs in executing official duties.
CAG Report on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC)
