What’s covered under the Article:

  • Netanyahu asserts "no one is immune" while defending Israel's military operations and condemning Iran’s attacks on civilians.

  • Israel’s Defence Minister publicly threatens Khamenei, calling him the “modern Hitler” and a direct target of the war effort.

  • Amid speculation of U.S. involvement, Netanyahu says Israel will neutralize Iran's nuclear and missile threat independently if needed.

The Israel-Iran conflict continues to escalate sharply as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered his strongest statement yet against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stating that “no one is immune” from Israeli military retaliation and that "all options are open."

Speaking from Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba, which had earlier come under Iranian missile attack, Netanyahu doubled down on Israel’s resolve to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat, even if it means acting without the involvement of the United States.

“I gave instructions that no one is immune,” Netanyahu said, stressing the seriousness of the situation.
“During a war, words have to be chosen with care and actions with precision,” he added. “All the options are open.”

Israel Responds to Civilian Targeting

Netanyahu’s remarks come in the aftermath of a massive barrage of Iranian missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory. In just one day, Iran is said to have fired over 400 ballistic missiles and more than 1,000 drones, affecting cities such as Ramat Gan, Holon, and Beersheba. At least 147 civilians have been hospitalized across the country due to injuries.

The Israeli Prime Minister fiercely condemned Iran’s targeting of civilian infrastructure, especially hospitals:

“They fire at hospitals where people are unable to escape danger,” he said. “This is the difference between a functioning democracy that adheres to the law and these murderers.”

Netanyahu reaffirmed that Israel’s objective remains focused on Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, and not its population:

“Our operation is to neutralize threats. Theirs is to destroy lives.”

Israel’s Operation Rising Lion and Retaliatory Measures

In response to the escalating attacks, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion—a coordinated military campaign aimed at eliminating Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure. The operation, which began on Friday, involves precision airstrikes, cyberattacks, and targeted drone operations across various locations in Iran.

One of the most strategically significant sites under scrutiny is the Fordo uranium enrichment facility, buried deep within a mountain. It has become the symbol of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and is allegedly immune to most conventional strikes, barring the use of bunker-buster bombs.

Israeli air raids have also struck missile manufacturing facilities, IRGC command centers, and defensive research organizations believed to be developing weapons systems with nuclear delivery capability.

Israel Katz Calls Khamenei “Modern Hitler”

In a parallel show of hardline resolve, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz echoed and amplified Netanyahu’s position during a visit to the impacted city of Holon. Katz made explicit calls for Khamenei's elimination, likening him to a dictator with genocidal intent:

“Preventing the existence of Khamenei, the modern Hitler – is one of the goals of the operation,” Katz declared.
“A dictator like Khamenei, who leads Iran and has inscribed the destruction of Israel on his flag – he cannot continue to exist.”

Katz emphasized that Khamenei’s ideological and logistical control over Iran’s weapons programs and military actions places him directly in the line of accountability.

U.S. Participation: A Decision Pending

As the conflict intensifies, questions loom about the possible military involvement of the United States. When asked about the U.S. role, Netanyahu clarified that while he respects U.S. President Donald Trump’s leadership, Israel will act autonomously if necessary.

“That is a decision for President Trump to make,” Netanyahu said. “He will do what is good for America, and I will do what’s good for Israel.”

He added:

“At the end of this operation, there will be no nuclear threat on Israel, and there won’t be a ballistic threat.”

These remarks come at a time when the White House confirmed that Trump is considering a military strike on Iran’s Fordo facility and will announce his decision within two weeks.

The press secretary’s remarks suggested that Trump continues to pursue diplomatic avenues but has not ruled out direct intervention should Iran escalate further.

Iran’s Barrage and Ongoing Hostilities

The war reached a dangerous inflection point after Iran’s sustained and multi-front missile offensive that included:

  • Direct strikes on hospitals and urban centers

  • Use of cluster munitions, banned under several international conventions

  • Launch of long-range drones and ballistic missiles that have overwhelmed Israeli defense systems

These developments have provoked strong international reactions, especially after the targeting of medical institutions like Soroka Medical Centre.

Iran’s justification has largely centered around retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure, but international analysts suggest Iran is now pushing boundaries by expanding the conflict zone to non-combatant targets.

Evacuations and Global Reaction

Amid the rising chaos, governments worldwide have launched evacuation missions. Countries such as India, Germany, Australia, the UK, and Canada are in the process of removing their nationals from Israel and Iran.

India, for example, evacuated 110 students from northern Iran to Armenia by road, then flew them to India on a special Air India evacuation flight on June 18. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated that it is working around the clock to ensure the safety of all Indian citizens.

“We are actively relocating Indian citizens from high-risk areas and organizing special evacuation flights,” said an MEA spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Australia has temporarily shut down its embassy in Tehran, citing a worsening security situation.

The Bigger Picture: Ideology vs. Diplomacy

What sets this war apart from previous conflicts in the region is the ideological framing adopted by both sides.

On one end, Israel asserts its right to self-defense, stating that Iran has made the elimination of the Israeli state a central pillar of its foreign policy.

On the other, Iran accuses Israel and the U.S. of attempting to destabilize the region under the guise of non-proliferation, while at the same time maintaining nuclear arsenals of their own.

This confrontation is now a test of:

  • Strategic military superiority

  • Diplomatic resilience

  • Ideological consistency in a rapidly polarizing world

Conclusion: Israel Declares Red Lines, World Watches

With Netanyahu’s latest statement—"All options are open"—and Katz's explicit threat to eliminate Khamenei, the Israel-Iran war has now transcended the realm of military conflict and entered diplomatic and ideological warfare.

The coming days are critical. The world awaits:

  • President Donald Trump’s final decision on whether the U.S. will enter the war

  • The outcome of Geneva-based diplomatic efforts to restart nuclear negotiations

  • The next phase of Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, which could escalate into regional war if Iran retaliates again with higher intensity

One thing is clear: Israel is preparing for a prolonged conflict, and Netanyahu is not ruling anything out. The war has entered a high-stakes phase, and as Netanyahu warned, it may no longer be constrained by conventional rules of engagement.
